Our diner engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who'll connect diners and restaurants by building amazing products used by millions of customers.
Our group's goal is to drive diner growth through product led initiatives. These are broken down into three key areas; SEO, Search and Discovery. We move all of these areas towards our goal through a collaborative experimental approach - using data is a huge part of our decision-making process.
The Senior Engineer will work in diner web engineering to drive our product growth, which will have a direct impact on generating revenue. You'll be working with technologies such as React, GraphQL, TypeScript, Postgres and Kubernetes. The problems to solve range from building scalable systems to improving the conversion rate of diners from different acquisition channels.
Please note, this role would be based in Berlin.
We know no one will have all of the following traits. But if some of these describe you, please apply.
OpenTable teams are independent and come up with their own way of working. In our team, we use two-week sprints to prioritise and drive work. How do you prefer to work? There are lots of opportunities to influence our process and our tech culture.
Enjoying what you do and being able to progress in your career is important to us. Not everyone wants to be a manager, so OpenTable has parallel tracks for both technical and management roles, which engineers can switch between when it suits.
We have recently introduced a Work From (Almost) Anywhere policy, which allows complete flexibility for where and when you work. We prioritise healthy work/life balance and trust engineers to choose where they work to strike the right balance of productivity and face-to-face collaboration.
OpenTable engineers come from varied backgrounds, and we believe that a team with a broad set of experiences produces amazing results. You do not have to have a computer science degree; in fact, several of us have social science degrees or no degree at all.
We regularly work with our development teams all over the world, from San Francisco and Los Angeles to Kaunas, Mumbai, and Melbourne. Two days each sprint are allocated to engineer-led innovation and learning opportunities where we get to try new things and share it with the team.
