The Role

This opportunity is a central leadership position on the R&D team to spearhead the design and development of all engineering deliverables for the Microsoft Windows Desktop Environment. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience on Windows to implement new types of mechanisms that facilitate the integration of native desktop applications and web applications. You will be responsible for defining the APIs, designing the protocols and coding the implementation to bring everything together as a single end-user experience.

Your work will be helping break the dichotomy between web apps and native apps. This is a key part of how Reframe will bring all applications and content together into a seamless and fully collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

• Developing Windows desktop system components to enable selection and capture of content for integration into the Reframe environment.
• Expanded research and development around bridging the divide between the Reframe environment and 3rd party applications.

Qualifications

• Expertise in developing Windows Desktop applications
• Expertise in programming languages such as C, C++ or Rust
• Strong working knowledge of Windows platform SDKs, subsystems and system software
• Experience building native multi-threaded Win32 native applications using C/C++
• Strong understanding of operating system concepts and design of modern browsers, desktop window managers, etc.
• Good working understanding of Windows internals, the architecture itself, the windowing manager, Window shell, task bar, etc.
• Experience developing with SDKs and environments such as Win32, WinUI 3, Windows App SDK, Windows SDK, COM, WinRT, Direct3D, Chromium, Edge, .NET, etc.
• Familiar with Windows Automation UI and Accessibility APIs a plus
• Strong communication skills, particularly written communication skills
